Relationship lessons from the Book of Ruth will be the focus
of a three-part sermon series beginning this Sunday, July 23.  Ruth's story is
filled with wisdom that all of us can apply.  If we do, we will be on the road

to transformation.  Please join us for an intriguing and uplifting look at the life
of Ruth, one of the great heroes of faith in all of Scripture.
Worship services are at 8:30 & 11:00 AM with a time for fellowship
in between at 9:30 AM in the church dining room.

July 23: "Where You Go, I Will Go"

“Hero Central” is the title and theme of Vacation Bible School at University United Methodist
Church, 2818 N. University, Peoria, to be held during the mornings of July 31 through
August 3.  A dinner and closing program will be held
Thursday evening, beginning at 6 PM.

Kids will be encourage to “find your strength in God,” through a creative set of lessons
based on a three-pronged strategy: “Do good!  Seek peace!  Go after it!”

Each day will include music, games, crafts, snacks and Bible lessons.  Any kid who wants to
join our happy journey is welcome!  Any parent or family member who would like more
information is welcome to call the church office at 688-3486.

VBS will begin at 9 AM each morning and will conclude at 11:30 AM.  For those who need to
drop their kids off earlier, we will have people here to supervise, beginning at 8 AM.  At the
conclusion of the morning, adults will be here until 12 noon.

We hope to see your child, beginning on July 31.  Together we will learn to be God’s heroes
as we find our strength in him.

Mark your calendars and invite your friends to Homecoming Sunday,
which will be held at 10 AM, Sunday, September 10, in our sanctuary.  This will be a
time of reunion and fellowship for current and former church members and pastors.
We will have one combined church service at 10 AM,
followed by a time of food and fellowship in Memorial Hall.

Please plan to join us for a time of connection with many who have long-term ties to
our congregation.  We envision an uplifting and meaningful day
in the life of our church.
